The disc screen separator is mainly used in coal classification in industries such as coal mines and power plants, as well as in the process of removing soil from sand and stone aggregates to separate mud and rock. Compared to traditional vibrating screens, the disc screen separator is less prone to clogging when classifying wet and sticky coal, ensuring the processing capacity and screening effect. Moreover, during operation, it has no vibration, low noise, and good sealing and dust-proof performance. In recent years, it has been widely used in the raw coal preparation screening, fine particle removal, and inspection screening operations in coal mines, achieving remarkable results.
How Disc Screen Separator Work?
The screening area consists of many parallel arranged roller shafts, the screen shaft is equipped with a number of staggered screen discs, the roller shafts rotate in the same direction, to realize the feeding and screen of materials.
The sieve surface of the disc screen separator is composed of multiple parallel-suspended sieve shafts with screen discs installed on them. The sieve shafts rotate under the drive device, and their rotation direction is the same as the flow direction of the materials.
The gap between the sieve shaft and the screen disc forms sieve holes. Materials smaller than the sieve holes are affected by their own weight and the rotational force of the sieve shaft, passing through the sieve holes and becoming the undersize materials. Materials larger than the sieve holes continue to move forward along the sieve surface and become the oversize materials, thus achieving the separation of the materials.
To prevent the materials from getting stuck on the sieve shaft, electrical and mechanical overload protection functions are provided.
The sieve size needs to be adjusted according to the user's requirements, by changing the gap of the sieve shaft and the size of the screen discs.

Screen Shaft Assembly
The screen shaft assembly is composed of motor + reducer, screen shaft, screen disc, flat key, locking nut, coupling, bearing seat and bearing seat accessories. The drive motor is connected with the reducer and screen shaft through the coupling.
The design of the screen shaft is reasonable and safe, which can effectively avoid the phenomenon of bending and breaking of the roller shaft.
When any group of screen shafts fails, the material can continue to move forward under the push of previous screen shaft, and the screening can operate as usual. The screen shaft bearing seat is installed on the outside of the screen box side plate for easy disassembly.

Screen Disc
The screen disc is made by casting a wear-resistant manganese-chromium alloy steel as a whole, which has excellent wear resistance. It can withstand the impact and wear of large pieces of materials and will not undergo any deformation or fracture.
The screen disc is designed as a parabolic sieve plate shape and is rounded to eliminate sharp corners, minimizing the rotational resistance of the sieve plate.
The parabolic screen disc can maximize the disturbance ability of the roller screen disc on the material flow and improve the screening rate.



Disc Screen Separator Details

Drive Device
It adopts single-axis single-motor drive or multi-axis chain combination transmission mode, reasonable power configuration and screen surface structure to evenly distribute the material load in the screen and ensure smooth operation.
The design structure of the driving device is simple, easy to install and disassemble, and the connected screen shaft is not moved when disassembling.
The driving device is compact in size, light in weight, long in life and low in maintenance cost.

Screen Disc
The roller screen disc is arranged in an alternating pattern, which makes the design more reasonable and resistant to impact. There will be no deformation or fracture at all.
The parabolic-shaped screen disc is well-designed, with high assembly accuracy. It can increase the screening rate and improve the screening accuracy. It has excellent wear resistance and a long service life.

Screen Box
The main body of the disc screen separator is welded with low-alloy high-strength structural steel. All screen shaft assemblies are fixed to the machine body through connecting bolts. Wear-resistant lining plates are installed on the side of the machine body to avoid direct contact between materials and the box, greatly extending the service life of the equipment. And the wear-resistant lining plate and the screen box are connected by bolts, which is easy to replace.

Protective Housing
The protective housing of the disc screen separator is welded with NM500 wear-resistant alloy steel plate, sprayed with anti-rust and anti-corrosion paint, and connected with the hopper and the outlet housing at the front and back.
The overall sealing of the screen box can effectively prevent dust pollution, reduce the impact on the environment, and meet the requirements of green construction.
The protective housing is provided with an observation window to facilitate the observation of the operation of the machine.

Wear-Resistant Lining Plate
The wear-resistant lining plate is made of alloy material, and the whole production process adopts welding, heat treatment, machining and other assembly line production, which has a long service life and strong wear resistance, toughness and impact resistance.
The inside of the screen box and the contact surface between the guide groove and the material are provided with wear-resistant lining plates, which can protect the screen box and increase the life of the guide groove. The lining plate is fixed together with the mother plate by bolts, and the replacement is convenient.

Self-cleaning Device
The self-cleaning device of the screen shaft is made of wear-resistant steel and is equipped with a cutting edge, which is inclined to the lower part of the screen shaft. Some fibrous debris and sticky materials attached to the screen will be automatically cleaned off by the cleaning device to solve the blockage of the screen surface.
