In the process of conveying material in a coal handling plant, downtime and maintenance of the coal belt conveyor will be minimized in order to improve efficiency. To ensure the safe operation of the belt conveyor, different protection devices will be used to achieve this goal.
1 Anti-Slip Protection Device
In case of skid friction of the driving roller and the conveyor belt making the coal belt conveyor automatically stop，the Anti-skid protection device is the common anti-skid protection device.
2 Coal Pile Protection Device
The function of the coal pile protection device is to stop the belt conveyor automatically when the coal pile occurs at the head of the coal belt conveyor in the conveying process.
3 Anti-Deviation Protection Device
When the conveyor belt deviation occurs, the anti-deviation protection device makes the conveyor belt automatic deviation correction. In case of serious deviation, the anti-deviation protection device makes the conveyor stop automatically to prevent accidents.
4 Temperature Protection, Smoke Protection And Automatic Sprinklers
Temperature protection, smoke protection and automatic sprinklers are used to send out sound and light signals to realize automatic stop when the conveyor belt slips on the driving drum, the conveyor belt, and the driving drum rub violently, resulting in temperature rise and smoke, when the monitoring temperature and smoke protection device capture the temperature and smoke signal.
5 Tension Protection Device
When the conveyor belt tension drops, the conveyor belt and the driving drum slip. The tension protection device will automatically stop the conveyor and alarm.
6 Emergency Stop Protection Devices Along The Line
The emergency stop protection device along the line requires the conveyor to install an emergency stop switch every 100 m. The stop switch must be installed at the loading point, pedestrian crossing, nose, tail, and other important places. In addition, the switch signal should be connected to the coal belt conveyor control system.
7 Anti-Tear Protection Device
The purpose of tear protection is very simple, that is, when the conveyor tears, it forces the conveyor to stop automatically to prevent the expansion of tearing accidents.
