The Flip Flow Screen is an efficient screening equipment. The sieve mesh is made of stretchable polyurethane rubber material. During operation, the sieve mesh alternately tightens and relaxes, causing the materials to undergo bouncing motion. This prevents the materials from adhering to the sieve mesh and blocking the sieve holes. At the same time, a flexible sieve plate is adopted, which enables the materials to be projected at an acceleration 30 to 50 times that of gravity. Therefore, the sieve holes are not easily clogged, and the screening efficiency is improved, as well as the processing capacity.
In practical applications, it effectively solves the problem of clogged sieve holes for difficult-to-sift coal, simplifies the process flow, and enhances the economic benefits of the enterprise.
Flip Flow Screen Type
At present, the commonly used flip flow screens in our country are mainly divided into mechanical type and vibrating type.
The mechanical flip flow screen is also known as the crank and connecting rod type flip flow screen.
The screen body is mainly composed of inner and outer screen frames. The inner screen frame is placed on the frame via a rubber shock absorber spring, while the outer screen frame is suspended on the inner screen frame by a leaf spring (glass fiber). Under the drive of external force, the inner and outer screen frames move relatively parallelly.
The movement of the screen frames is driven by the motor to rotate the eccentric shaft. The eccentric shaft, through the thrust rod spring, continuously pushes and pulls the outer screen frame, causing a reverse linear motion between the inner and outer screen frames. Thus, the crossbeam installed on the screen frames can drive the flexible screen plate to perform alternating relaxation and tensioning movements. The materials on the screen surface will undergo a "bounce-up, fall-down, bounce-up" cyclic harmonic motion, thereby completing the grading operation of layer-by-layer screening of the materials.
Vibratory Flip Flow Screen

The vibratory flip flow screen is developed from the traditional circular vibrating screen or linear vibrating screen. A single drive generates double vibrations, that is, one exciter or a group of exciters provide two vibrations. The basic vibration is the circular or linear vibration generated by the rotating eccentric block on the active screen frame; the additional vibration is the elliptical vibration generated by the floating screen frame through the shear spring. When the main floating screen frame moves relative to each other, the polyurethane screen plates installed at both ends on the fixed beam and the floating beam expand and contract continuously, causing the flexible screen plates to undergo large deflections, thereby enabling the material particles on the screen surface to achieve a very high acceleration, up to more than 50g. During the continuous expansion and contraction process of the screen holes, it can effectively prevent the screen holes from getting clogged and improve the efficiency of material screening.
Features Of The Flip Flow Screen
- High-Efficiency Screening Performance
The screen surface movement of the flip flow screen can provide up to 50G of acceleration for the materials. For difficult-to-sift materials, its screening efficiency is usually more than 30% higher than that of ordinary vibrating screens, enabling more effective separation of products with the desired particle size.
- Applicable To Wet And Sticky Materials:
This is one of the most significant advantages of the Flip Flow Screen. Its outstanding self-cleaning ability makes it the absolute top choice for processing high-humidity, high-viscosity, and easily clogged-hole materials (such as coal washing products, tailings, sludge, wet mineral powder, sticky limestone, etc.).
- No Blockage Of Holes During Screening
The constant flexing effect of the elastic sieve plate prevents particle adhesion. The extension of the sieve plate causes a slight change in the opening of the sieve holes in the tension direction, which can be described as the "breathing" of the sieve holes. Combined with high acceleration force, it prevents particles close to the size of the sieve holes from blocking the sieve holes.
- Can Reduce Investment
The rubber springs that support the screening machine only bear the weight of the screening machine in the vertical direction during operation, and in the inclined installation direction they bear the inertial force of the screening machine. However, the low rotational speed characteristic of the screening machine results in no vertical impact on the foundation, reducing the bearing requirements of the foundation and thereby reducing additional investment.
- Fully Enclosed And Environmentally Friendly Design
The equipment can be equipped with a dust-proof cover as a whole, effectively preventing the leakage of dust. At the same time, when handling materials with high moisture content and prone to adhesion, such as construction waste, the full enclosure can prevent the diffusion of leachate and reduce the loss of material splashing.
Application Fields Of Flip Flow Screen
The flip flow screen is mainly applied in industrial scenarios where high screening efficiency is required and the material properties are harsh:
- ● Coal Industry: This is the largest application field of the Flip Flop Screen, used for classifying, dehydrating and de-claying high moisture (more than 10%) fines and coal sludge.
- ● Mining And Metallurgy:Used for classifying wet and sticky minerals such as iron ore, quartz sand, and bauxite.
- ● Power Industry:Used for screening the raw coal entering the coal-fired power plant to ensure uniform particle size.
- ● Environmental Protection Industry:Used for screening and treating urban domestic waste and sludge.
- ● Building Materials And Chemical Industry:Used for screening materials prone to moisture absorption and agglomeration such as fertilizers, salt, and urea.
