The flip flow screen is a highly efficient screening equipment that utilizes mechanical drive to achieve high-frequency flip and flop movements of the elastic screen mesh. It is specifically designed to handle moist, sticky, clumping-prone, or high-density materials. Its core advantage lies in the combination of mechanical structure drive and elastic screen mesh technology. The constant flexing action of the elastic screen plate prevents particle adhesion, while the elongation of the screen plate causes a slight change in the screen mesh opening in the tension direction, which can be described as the "breathing" of the screen mesh. Combined with high acceleration forces, this prevents particles close to the screen mesh size from clogging the mesh.
Applications include wet recycled materials as well as high moisture and viscous ash, mineral and clay-based materials, or industries such as coal preparation plants, coal chemicals, fertilizer plants, construction aggregates, and non-ferrous metals. The size of the processed materials usually ranges from 0 to 100 mm
How Flip Flow Screens Work?
The mechanical flip flow screen is also known as the crank and connecting rod type flip flow screen.
The screen body is mainly composed of inner and outer screen frames. The inner screen frame is placed on the frame via a rubber shock absorber spring, while the outer screen frame is suspended on the inner screen frame by a leaf spring (glass fiber). Under the drive of external force, the inner and outer screen frames move relatively parallelly.
The movement of the screen frames is driven by the motor to rotate the eccentric shaft. The eccentric shaft, through the thrust rod spring, continuously pushes and pulls the outer screen frame, causing a reverse linear motion between the inner and outer screen frames. Thus, the crossbeam installed on the screen frames can drive the flexible screen plate to perform alternating relaxation and tensioning movements. The materials on the screen surface will undergo a "bounce-up, fall-down, bounce-up" cyclic harmonic motion, thereby completing the grading operation of layer-by-layer screening of the materials.
Flip Flow Screen Structure
The screening machine mainly consists of a combined screening body (screen frame, flexible screen plate, crank transmission device, end transmission, motor, motor support, screening body support, vibration-damping springs, sealing cover, etc.).
The screen frame is connected by enhanced carbon fiber elastic elements provided by a German manufacturer. These elastic elements remain intact even after millions of reciprocating deflections.
The reciprocating distance between the components is determined by the inherent characteristics of the equipment and does not change with the load size of the screening machine. Therefore, the stability of this type of screening machine is an unparalleled advantage compared to other types of flip flow screens
