However, traditional equipment has obvious limitations: the inclination angle of flat belt conveyors cannot exceed 30°, and the materials are prone to sliding; bucket elevators rely on chain transmission, which is prone to wear, requires frequent maintenance, and has a single transportation path. These problems not only reduce the production efficiency of customers but also increase the cost of site and operation, restricting the development of production lines. Therefore, through structural innovation, we have broken through the traditional transportation limits and designed a Steep Angle Conveyor. It does not require large-scale wiring and can flexibly adapt to complex terrain and workshop layouts. What Is a Steep Angle Conveyor?

The steep angle conveyor(Sidewall Belt Conveyor)  we design and produce issidewall belt conveyor ontinuous conveying equipment. Its core design involves adding wave-shaped guardrails on both sides of the conveyor belt (usually made of rubber or polyester materials), combined with transverse partitions on the belt surface (such as T-type, TC-type, etc.), to form a closed or semi-closed hopper structure. This enables the stable bearing and conveying of materials even in a large inclination angle or even vertical direction, completely solving the problem of material slippage in traditional flat belt conveyance.

01/ Breaking Through The Angle Limit, Strong Space Adaptability

Compared with the traditional flat belt conveyor with an angle limit of ≤ 30°, our steep angle conveyor can easily achieve a conveying angle of 30° - 90°. Some special designs can even enable vertical conveying.

At the same time, it can also complete "Z" shape, "S" shape and other spatial curve conveyances, significantly saving installation space and meeting the complex spatial layout requirements of customers' factories, mines, ports, etc. This is also the direction we most frequently optimize for our customers in project design.

 

02/ Flexible Structure, Adaptable To Changing Direction Requirements

We use rubber or polyester materials to make the corrugated guardrails. These materials have good flexibility and can flexibly bend along with the conveyor belt.

This design has been verified through multiple practices and can ensure that the guardrails are tightly attached to the conveyor belt during directional changes and turns, without deformation or flipping, ensuring the stability of the conveyance and meeting the requirements of various scenarios for directional conveyance.

 

03/ Stable Hopper, Reliable Carrying Capacity

We will evenly arrange the cross partitions on the conveyor belt surface at intervals of 200 - 600mm according to the particle size and weight of the conveyed materials. These partitions work together with the corrugated guardrails to form independent material carrying units.

Each unit can stably carry block, granular or powder materials, effectively limiting the displacement of materials during the climbing process, and meeting the material conveyance requirements of different customers. This is also the core manifestation of the strong adaptability of our equipment.

Our steep angle conveyor is composed of core functional components and auxiliary systems. The main components include: drive device, steep angle conveyor belt, drive pulley, bend pulley, pressure belt pulley, roller, cleaning device, and tensioning system.

Steep Angle Conveyor Belt

The conveyor belt is the core component of the equipment. We use high-strength steel wire rope core or fabric core as the base belt framework to ensure the overall tensile strength and be able to meet the tension requirements for large-tonnage material transportation. The edge height is usually 60-240mm. We will customize it according to the customer's requirements for the particle size and height of the transported materials.

The edge and the base belt are firmly combined through the hot vulcanization process. After our strict testing, there is no risk of delamination, and it can withstand the impact and friction of the materials, effectively extending the equipment's service life and reducing the customer's maintenance costs in the later stage.

Pressure Wheel And Transition Device

The pressure wheel assembly and the convex arc segment transition device are the key designs that enable us to achieve large inclination and curved transportation. They can precisely restrict the shape of the conveyor belt at the turning point, preventing the guard edge from flipping over, the conveyor belt from deviating, and avoiding spillage of materials during the turning process.

This component was designed based on our years of project experience and has been verified in multiple complex working conditions projects. It has extremely strong stability and is suitable for various space curved transportation scenarios.

Mining And Metallurgy Industry

In open-pit mining projects such as iron ore and copper ore mining, our steep angle conveyor can directly transport the ore from the bottom of the mining pit at an angle of approximately 60° to the ground crushing station.

According to our project data statistics, compared with traditional truck transportation, this transportation method saves more than 40% of energy; the single machine conveying capacity can reach over 800t/h, which can replace the complex system of three bucket elevators connected in series, helping customers simplify the conveying process and reduce equipment investment costs.

 

In metallurgical plants, it is common to transport high-temperature materials such as sintered ore, coke, and slag. We have specifically optimized the equipment design to accommodate heat-resistant guard belts, which can withstand the impact of 150℃ high-temperature materials.

Its sealed hopper structure can prevent the scattering of high-temperature materials, avoiding scalding accidents and reducing dust pollution. This complies with the safety and environmental protection requirements of the metallurgical industry, and this is also the core advantage we provide for customers in the metallurgical sector.

 

Power And Construction Materials Industry

In the coal conveying system project of thermal power plants, our equipment can bypass the space limitations of the plant buildings and convey raw coal from the dock, storage area directly to the top of the silo at an inclination angle of around 70 degrees.

It does not require multiple transfers, significantly improving the coal conveying efficiency for customers, while saving the installation space within the plant and perfectly adapting to the dense equipment layout of the power plant. It has served multiple thermal power projects.

 

The cement plant is a typical application scenario for our Steep Angle Conveyor. From the limestone pre-homogenization storage area to the raw meal vertical mill, the kiln tail clinker transportation, and other links, we will design a multi-section equipment combination to achieve a complex path transportation with a total lifting height of 148 meters and a horizontal distance of 300 meters for our customers.

Compared with pneumatic conveying systems, this method saves about 30% of electricity and can be adapted to various building materials such as sand, gravel, and cement clinker. It operates stably and reliably and has been recognized by many customers in the building materials industry.

 

Port And Terminal Field

In bulk cargo terminals such as coal and ore terminals, our steep-angle conveyor can achieve a tilt angle of around 45° and cross over breakwaters, storage yards, and other terrains, enabling direct and continuous transportation from ships to the storage yards.

The single machine length can reach 850 meters. It can overcome the drawbacks of traditional pile grab machines that require multiple transfers, significantly improving the efficiency of port handling and helping customers reduce transportation costs and optimize the port operation process.

 

For the transportation needs of granular grains such as corn and wheat, we will adopt a design featuring food-grade rubber flanges and encrypted partitions, creating a sealed transportation structure for our customers.

This design ensures that there is no leakage or pollution during the transportation process of the grains, meeting the hygiene requirements for grain storage. At the same time, it prevents the granular materials from sliding down, ensuring the stability of the transportation and meeting the core requirements of grain terminals.

 

Chemical And Environmental Engineering

In fertilizer plants and chemical plants, for the transportation of corrosive materials such as granular urea and chemical powder, we will equip the equipment with anti-corrosion edge conveyor belts and nitrogen protection devices.

The anti-corrosion edge can resist material erosion, and the nitrogen protection can prevent the materials from getting damp and deteriorating, ensuring a safe and stable transportation process, which meets the special process requirements of the chemical industry. This is also our customized solution for the chemical industry.

 

In the waste incineration and power generation project, our steep-angle conveyor can be used for transporting domestic waste. It adopts a self-cleaning cross-bar design, which can effectively prevent kitchen waste from adhering to the conveyor belt and reduce the workload of the customers.

In tunnel construction projects, our foldable corrugated edge conveyor can flexibly extend along the excavation face, transporting the excavated materials from the face to the surface at a 75° steep angle.

Its foldable structure is suitable for the narrow space of tunnels, does not require excessive occupation of construction sites, and can significantly improve the efficiency of tunnel waste removal, helping customers accelerate the construction progress.

 

In projects such as those at Antarctic research stations in extremely cold environments, our cold-resistant steep angle conveyor can maintain rubber elasticity at -60℃, stably transporting ice and snow samples as well as scientific research supplies.
