Compared to traditional vibrating screens, the heavy-duty roller screen is less prone to clogging when grading wet and sticky materials, ensuring the processing capacity and screening effect. Moreover, it has high reliability during operation, no vibration, low noise, good dust-sealing and dust-proof performance, low bearing temperature, uniform material distribution on the screen disc, and less wear on the screen disc. It is widely used in the material screening and fine particle removal operations in multiple industries and has achieved remarkable results.
How Heavy-duty Roller Screen Work?
- The screen surface of the heavy-duty roller screen is composed of multiple sets of screen shafts rotating in the same direction. It uses the principle of one or more levels of inclined disturbance for screening.
- Each screen shaft is equipped with several equidistant screen discs. The screen discs on adjacent screen shafts are arranged crosswise, forming "dynamic sieve holes". During the rolling of the materials on the screen surface, they are continuously stratified, with small particles moving downward and large particles rolling forward.
- Small particles remain in contact with the sieve holes for a long time and complete forced sieving through the "rubbing-like" action of adjacent screen discs. Large particles are constantly impacted and disintegrated by the agglomerated particles during their rolling, and the fine particles adhering to the screen discs are automatically cleaned, achieving the purpose of self-cleaning. A self-cleaning device is installed under each screen shaft to remove residual sticky particles. During the screening process, the sieve holes remain unobstructed, ensuring no blockage, adhesion, or clogging of materials. The screening operation is completed without any jamming or sticking.

Screen Shaft Assembly
- The screen shaft assembly consists of a drive unit motor + reducer, screen shaft, screen disc, flat key, locking nut, coupling, bearing housing and bearing housing accessories. The drive motor and reducer are connected to the screen shaft through the coupling.
- The screen shaft is made of forged 42CrMo material. It undergoes CAE force analysis and is designed to be reasonable and safe, effectively avoiding phenomena such as bending or fracture of the tooth roller shaft. The screen shaft seal uses a special rubber bowl seal to prevent dust from spilling out.
- When any one of the screen shafts fails, the material can be pushed by the previous screen shaft and continue to advance beyond the faulty screen shaft, ensuring the normal operation of screening.
- The screen shaft bearing housing is installed on the outer side of the screen side plate and is convenient for disassembly.

Screen Disc
- By using small inclined roller screen discs, while ensuring the screening particle size, the disturbance ability of the roller screen discs on the stone flow is maximized, thereby increasing the screening throughput rate.
- By adopting an interlaced arrangement of roller screen discs, the design is more reasonable and novel.
- Using an integral casting of wear-resistant manganese-chromium alloy steel, it can easily withstand the impact and wear of materials smaller than 800mm, without any deformation or fracture. The surface hardness of the screen disc is HRC55, with excellent wear resistance, and the service life is not less than 12,000 hours.



Heavy-duty Roller Screen Details

Drive Device
It adopts single-axis single-motor drive or multi-axis chain combination transmission mode, reasonable power configuration and screen surface structure to evenly distribute the material load in the screen and ensure smooth operation.
The design structure of the driving device is simple, easy to install and disassemble, and the connected screen shaft is not moved when disassembling.
The driving device is compact in size, light in weight, long in life and low in maintenance cost.

Screen Disc
The heavy-duty roller screen disc is arranged in an alternating pattern, which makes the design more reasonable and resistant to impact. There will be no deformation or fracture at all.
The parabolic-shaped screen disc is well-designed, with high assembly accuracy. It can increase the screening rate and improve the screening accuracy. It has excellent wear resistance and a long service life.

Screen Box
The main body of the heavy-duty roller screen is welded with low-alloy high-strength structural steel. All screen shaft assemblies are fixed to the machine body through connecting bolts. Wear-resistant lining plates are installed on the side of the machine body to avoid direct contact between materials and the box, greatly extending the service life of the equipment. And the wear-resistant lining plate and the screen box are connected by bolts, which is easy to replace.

Protective Housing
The protective housing of the heavy-duty roller screen is welded with NM500 wear-resistant alloy steel plate, sprayed with anti-rust and anti-corrosion paint, and connected with the hopper and the outlet housing at the front and back.
The overall sealing of the screen box can effectively prevent dust pollution, reduce the impact on the environment, and meet the requirements of green construction.
The protective housing is provided with an observation window to facilitate the observation of the operation of the machine.

Wear-Resistant Lining Plate
The wear-resistant lining plate is made of alloy material, and the whole production process adopts welding, heat treatment, machining and other assembly line production, which has a long service life and strong wear resistance, toughness and impact resistance.
The inside of the screen box and the contact surface between the guide groove and the material are provided with wear-resistant lining plates, which can protect the screen box and increase the life of the guide groove. The lining plate is fixed together with the mother plate by bolts, and the replacement is convenient.

Self-cleaning Device
The self-cleaning device of the screen shaft is made of wear-resistant steel and is equipped with a cutting edge, which is inclined to the lower part of the screen shaft. Some fibrous debris and sticky materials attached to the screen will be automatically cleaned off by the cleaning device to solve the blockage of the screen surface.

Smooth Operation
The equipment can be driven by a combination of single-axis drive, multi-axis chain drive or multi-axis linkage gearbox. The motor, reducer and bearings are selected from well-known brands. The reasonable power configuration and the reasonable screen surface structure ensure that the gypsum rock load in the screen machine is evenly distributed, guaranteeing smooth operation.
Strong Anti-Clogging Performance
During the mining and crushing process of gypsum rock, fine sticky powder is easily produced. Traditional vibrating screens are prone to clogging. However, our heavy-duty roller screen adopts a small-angle cross-screen disc design, combined with a comb-shaped self-cleaning device. During operation, it automatically removes the gypsum fine powder adhering to the screen disc, ensuring no material blockage or clogging of the screen holes throughout the process, and maintaining a stable high screening capacity.
Durable And Impact-Resistant
The screen disc is cast as a single piece using high-quality wear-resistant manganese-chromium alloy steel or NM360 material. It can withstand the continuous impact and long-term frictional erosion caused by large blocks of gypsum rock, and will not undergo any deformation or fracture. The service life of the screen surface is therefore longer.
High Screening Efficiency
For the classification conditions of gypsum rock, with a classification particle size of 30mm, the screening efficiency can reach over 85%; when the classification particle size is greater than 30mm, the screening efficiency can reach 90-98%, achieving thorough separation of coarse and fine materials.
Energy Conservation & Environmental Protection
The entire machine adopts a fully enclosed structure, without vibration. This effectively prevents gypsum dust from spilling out. At the same time, it has low noise, meeting the environmental protection production requirements of mines.
Easy Maintenance
The screen shaft is designed in a modular and independent manner, allowing for single-axis drive. If a certain screen shaft fails, it will not affect the operation of the entire machine.
