What Are The Key Components Of a Banana Screen Vibration Exciter?

The banana screen is widely used in industries such as mining, coal, and metallurgy for material classification and dehydration, desilting, and dewatering operations. It is composed of multiple sections of screen surfaces, with the inclination angle gradually decreasing from the inlet end to the outlet end. During the operation of the screening machine, the inlet end has a larger angle, and the materials enter the screen surface and move forward at a high acceleration and quickly separate into layers. A large amount of materials smaller than the sieve holes come into full contact with the screen surface and pass through the sieve smoothly; the outlet end has a gentle angle, and the material movement speed is slow, allowing the remaining small materials to pass through the sieve, significantly improving the screening efficiency.

The Banana Screen is mainly composed of drive device, screen body, screen plate, vibration exciter, and damping device, and is powered by an electric motor and vibration exciter as the vibration source.

  • This vibration exciter adopts the ZYQX series high-efficiency gear-driven lubricated oil tank type vibration exciter independently developed and manufactured by our company;
  • This vibration exciter is equipped with imported SKF large-clearance vibration mechanical special bearings;
  • It uses high-precision heavy-duty helical gears, splash lubrication, and magnetic oil discharge plugs, which can adsorb iron filings in the lubricating oil;
  • The gas and heat inside the vibration exciter can freely exchange through special sealing at the shaft end, and ensure that the lubricating oil does not leak out. This specially designed structure can ensure that dust or other foreign substances cannot enter the interior of the vibration exciter;
  • The eccentric force of the eccentric wheel of the vibration exciter can be adjusted to meet the different amplitude requirements of the materials for the equipment.

The Banana Screen vibration exciter is mainly composed of a casing, an eccentric shaft, an eccentric block, gears, bearings and bearing seats. The vibration exciter is installed on the side plate of the screen body and is driven to rotate by an electric motor through a small pulley, V-belt, a large pulley, and the end bearing seat. This causes the vibration exciter to generate centrifugal inertial force, which forces the screen body to vibrate and produce linear motion.

 

Banana Screen Vibration Exciter Manufacturing Process 

 Casing

  • The casing is precisely cast using Q400-18 ball-milled cast iron, which has excellent machinability, high impact toughness at room temperature, high plasticity. Its brittle transition temperature is low, and it has good low-temperature toughness.

    Before processing the casing, we perform natural aging treatment or artificial aging treatment on it to eliminate internal stress, stabilize the structure and size, and improve mechanical properties.

    After the aging treatment is completed, the casing is once clamped by the Five-axis Gantry Machining-center and the processing of multiple surfaces is completed in sequence. At the same time, the milling, boring, drilling, tapping and other processes on the casing are completed, reducing the number of clamping and correction, effectively ensuring the positional tolerance accuracy of each surface.

    The centerline coaxiality tolerance of the two bearing seat holes of the vibration exciter complies with the 6th grade accuracy requirement in GB/T 1184, which is based on the maximum distance between two concentric holes as the main parameter.

    Before assembling the casing, remove the processing iron filings, burrs, etc. Use methods such as shot blasting and high-pressure blow cleaning to thoroughly clean the oil cavity. After completion, apply anti-rust paint inside the oil cavity, apply anti-rust oil on the processing surface, and place it in a dust-free assembly workshop for standby.

 

 Spindle

The spindle is made of 40Cr. After rough machining, it undergoes quenching and tempering treatment, which results in excellent comprehensive mechanical properties and low-temperature impact toughness. Then, it undergoes fine processing to ensure the form and position tolerances as well as accuracy; the bearing position is ground to ensure the smoothness. Finally, it is coated with anti-rust oil and placed in a dust-free assembly workshop for standby.

 

 Gear

The gear is forged from 20CrMnTi and undergoes carburizing quenching and re-heat treatment. The hardness of the tooth surface reaches 56-62 HRC. After grinding, the gear accuracy meets the requirements of grade 6 in GB/T 10095.1 and GB/T 10095.2.

 

 Bearings

The bearings are selected as the special vibration mechanical bearings from Sweden's SKF, with a service life of ≥ 2 years.

 

 Eccentric Block

The eccentric block is precisely cast using QT400-18 ball-milled cast iron and is completed through a single processing by a large 3-axis 5-face gantry machining center. It is positioned using dedicated fixtures to ensure that the key slots and the installation holes for the counterweight columns meet the shape and position tolerances as well as the dimensional accuracy requirements.

We not only have a dedicated assembly workshop for vibration exciter, ensuring that the assembly process takes place in a dust-free environment.

In addition, there is a dedicated vibration exciter test bench. Each vibration exciter is assembled and tested on-site in the factory, and all performance indicators are inspected. Only those that pass the inspection can be installed on the vibrating screen.

 

The vibration exciter test bench adopts an intelligent monitoring system:

① During the test run of the vibration exciter, all monitoring indicators are displayed and recorded in real time, with accurate and reliable data;

② An abnormal indicator alarm device is provided, which issues alerts promptly based on the test situation;

③ The monitoring results are automatically generated by the computer.
