How Apron Plate Feeder Work?
When the Apron Feeder is transporting minerals, it is powered by a flameproof variable-frequency motor. After passing through a coupling and a planetary reducer for deceleration and torque increase, it drives the sprocket shaft to rotate. Through the meshing of the sprocket and the chain, the pan is driven to perform continuous linear motion.
The pan is stably supported by the support roller and the return roller. The tail tension device can adjust the chain tension, ensuring precise meshing and preventing deviation or jamming.
After the ore falls from the silo into the pan, it is smoothly conveyed to the subsequent equipment. It supports a continuous speed adjustment range of 0.026 - 0.26 m/s. The rigid frame and the buffering structure are adapted to the heavy-load impact of the ore. The sealing design prevents dust from entering, ensuring continuous and stable operation.

Drive Device
Drive device utilizes an AC variable frequency drive system that integrates software with electronic and mechanical systems to provide precise conveyor speed control and overload protection.
The main components of the drive device can choose Siemens, ABB, Sew, Flender and other well-known domestic and foreign brands of motor and gearbox, to provide stable and continuous kinetic energy output, with high efficiency, low noise, low vibration and other characteristics.
Buffer Track & Frame
Rugged steel support frame with impact rails to limit pans deflection, thus eliminating permanent bending of the pans. And it can withstands all loading conditions during starting and operation. Lifting lugs are installed in the appropriate position of the frame for easy installation and future maintenance.
Sprocket
Cast manganese segmental sprockets bolted to heavy steel hubs keyed to oversized front drive shaft.
The segmental sprockets can be replaced in a very short time without needing to dismantle or remove other parts of the feeder.
Chains & Rollers
The chain uses an off the shelf dozers chain (Track chain), which is characterized by small pitch error, smooth movement, high strength, large pulling force, and the chain has a self-lubricating device and a sealing device. The rollers are designed as a standard tractor rollers with sealed and lifetime lubricated bearings, mounted on the main feeder frame. The rollers has suitably spaced to provide adequate support for the chain assembly. The Chains & Rollers can use world famous brands according to customer needs, such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Shantui.
Pans
The pans bolted to the chain with high strength bolts and nuts, which can be replaced individually in situ without disturbing the rest of the apron feeder.
According to different working conditions, apron plate feeder can choose heavy duty cast manganese steel or welded construction with ribbed reinforcements, which is suited for materials with high load and high impact conditions.
Tail Tension Device
The tension device is used to tighten and adjust the horizontal position of the chain to ensure that the chain tightness is moderate and make it run smoothly. When the pans are suddenly impacted by the material, the composite spring can play a buffer role to protect the pans and other components from damage.

Our apron plate feeder chain plates are made by welding low-alloy steel plates. The shaft body is hardened. Combined with the special crawler chain for bulldozers, it can strongly resist the long-term impact and erosion of various hard minerals, with a low wear rate and a service life that is 20-30% longer than that of ordinary models.
High Production Capacity
Our apron plate feeder has a production capacity of 200 - 1500 t/h, capable of supporting 24-hour uninterrupted operation. It can precisely meet the large-scale ore transportation needs of the mine, ensuring continuous feeding from the storage bin to the crusher, and improving mining efficiency.
Suitable For Various Ores
Our apron plate feeder can stably convey various irregular ores with a particle size of ≤ 1500mm and a specific gravity of ≤ 2.0t/m³. Whether it is coarse ore blocks or fine ore materials, they can be smoothly transported, effectively avoiding ore blockages.
Strong Environmental Tolerance
Our apron plate feeder can operate stably within a temperature range of -30℃ to +50℃. The entire machine has undergone anti-corrosion spraying treatment, enabling it to handle the harsh working conditions in mines, such as dust, humidity, and large temperature differences, without rust or malfunctions.
Multiple Safety Protections
Our apron plate feeder is equipped with multiple devices such as speed monitoring, blockage alarm, chain break protection, and overload protection. It supports reverse material flow delay startup logic and can quickly respond to abnormal situations such as ore blockage and equipment overload, in line with mine safety regulations.
Modular Design
The main shaft and sprocket of our ore feeder, as well as other core components, are connected by expansion sleeves. The modular design enables easy disassembly and assembly without the need for complex tools. The wear parts can be replaced quickly, significantly reducing the downtime for maintenance in the mines.
